Large Derby Moulded Floral Pattern Sauceboat c1760

A large moulded Derby sauceboat well painted in a central reserve on each side with a spray of bright orange flowers and pink veined leaves.
The body is finely moulded and overpainted with further pink veined leaves and pink edged flowers. The interior of the sauceboat also has a finely drawn flower spray.
Completing this example is a moulded rope-twist border.

The sauceboat stands 11.5 cm tall and measures 23.3 cm across including handle.

Display condition is good but there is a long fine crack around the base and across the foot and two further 3 cm hairlines emanating from the rim on one side.
